Story of this 1956 Chevy Bel Air

This 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Coupe is finished in two-tone India Ivory over Twilight Turquoise, powered by the two-barrel 170 HP 265 cu in V8 with the Two Speed Power Glide Transmission. It is outfitted with twin outboard rear-view fender mirrors and is a radio delete version with a very rare matching dash filler panel.

It was purchased in Portland, Oregon, by the current owner in 1970, showing only 62,000 miles from the original owner who bought it as a gift from A.B. Smith dealership on Christmas eve in 1955. Currently, the car shows 73,027 actual Original miles. In 1970, some chrome plating and an original code repaint were performed to upgrade its pristine condition. It Exhibits minor interior wear since 1970; the overall condition is great with minor lacquer aging on the trunk and roof.

The current owner has garaged the car since 1970 between showings, drives, and ice cream trips in the summer evenings, this car was not owned for investment, but for love of 50's cars, this one is the pinnacle. While it was owned, the vehicle was never driven in the Oregon rain. It has been started and serviced monthly and drives well. It still has the original Oregon blue plates showing 1956, and stickered until 1968 and is recorded as a vintage vehicle negating the need for semi-annual DMV stickers. It is provided with a clean Oregon title.

The car has been fitted with 15" rally wheels for over thirty years to allow for modern radial tires and comes with original wheels and hubcaps, as well as some parts and an extra 1956 radio. It now has a new set of narrow whitewall tires, as shown in the photos.
